As a web designer, I’ve learned the hard way how to position myself in the design process (and it’s a never ending journey). It’s often easier to blame the client for not being able to clearly explain what they want, but the truth is, they should not have to. The first job of a designer is to spark conversations. Dig into the client’s mind to grasp his frame of reference, trace back the thread of his thoughts, and finally, put that knowledge into motion.
